Frostpunk atmosphere
Moral choice is perhaps one of the main aspects of the game. Many laws adopted in the game – some heal, others cripple: Should you add sawdust to the cauldron to make more portions come out?? Should lethal duels and prostitution be allowed so people can relieve stress?? Should I waste time on funerals or just take the bodies to the nearest snowdrift?? (Maybe they will come in handy again. ) What can we say about periodically appearing moral dilemmas, when on the one hand the survival of humanity is at stake, and on the other hand, there are certain boundaries, crossing which you cease to be human.
Please note that the game will remember all your sins in the final timelapse!
The settlement will of course be saved, but how can we continue to live with this??
Where is the power, brother??
Despite the fact that for most of the game we must fight cold and hunger in a relatively small crater, periodically sending scouts into the snowy wastelands, at a certain stage the game will ask us to choose one of two goals that will help people unite in such a difficult time: “Order and discipline” or “Faith and spiritual strength”. In one case, the emphasis will be on law enforcement: There will be watchtowers, prisons, and even a scaffold for special cases. In another, the emphasis will be on “braces”, i.e.e. various religious buildings and prayers inspiring people will appear. In both cases, no one will oblige us to adopt absolutely all available laws. You can create an inquisition or turn the city into a concentration camp, or you can limit yourself to something neutral. Even the main leveling tree, called “Adaptation”, is branched enough to do everything your own way.
How far has the progress come?.
The game is made in a steampunk https://casinosnogamstop.co.uk/review/bubbles-bet/ style, which seems to hint at ingenious steam gear-spring technologies. Of the latter, not counting the generator itself – the heart of the city, in my opinion, the Automatons are especially memorable – huge spider-like walking robots, which in turn can replace a person in almost any task. Ideally, with their help, you can even build a completely autonomous city, with a society of idle people who, for some reason, will still continue to grumble in the morning, complaining about the difficult workdays.
The city was captured by Martian war machines from "War of the Worlds"?
The game’s soundtrack probably deserves special attention; for example, I really remember the theme of the storm, which, coupled with the howling of the wind, helps to feel how difficult it is to survive at -150°C:
It just so happened that Frostpunk was released on the same day as the heating in the house was turned off, thereby increasing the degree of atmosphere for me.
To say that I am delighted with the game is to say nothing. I recommend checking out this game, even if you are not a fan of the genre, because such high-quality games actually don’t come out as often as we would like.

Judging by the rating, the very first blog in my life was not very successful.
Anyway, thank you for watching!
I will also be glad to receive constructive criticism in the comments. There is nothing wrong with learning from your mistakes and not making them in the future. 🙂
Not bad (quite readable), but not enough (that is, not informative enough), as soon as you start to read the text, it already ends (I myself don’t like water in the text, but here the emphasis is on insufficient analysis of the object of study). And it’s crumpled – you don’t feel the transition from one thought to another. And the principle of dividing the chapters is not entirely clear – that is, one talked about the game in general terms, the second also… ummm… And at the beginning, I somehow lost the juice of the game (the final time-lapse) – from ignorance, which gives you the wildest emotions (both pleasant and bombing), but to be honest, I didn’t play this game, I just understood this from the reviews. Well, we must remember that the review is made in order to convey information to the reader – will this game suit him or not, and I kind of understand that this is not really a review of!, but in my opinion this is not appropriate for such a small game, but if you could talk about the atmosphere in comparison with other similar games, then yes. Here’s my expert opinion 🙂 Keep writing anyway.
Thanks for the comment, I’ll take it into account!
This blog was intended more as a kind of review, like those that are written on Steam, but not with dry “pros” and “cons”, but with general impressions about the game you liked. I understand that IMHO such things are not as interesting to read as full-fledged reviews. Who knows, maybe someday I’ll learn to write like this.
Regarding paragraphs, in the first paragraph under the title I tried to describe the game component of moral choice. In the second – variability of development. In the third – stylistics (setting). Well, in the rest, without headings – a little about different things (for example, about the soundtrack).
I wrote each paragraph separately, based on my impressions and thoughts, that’s why it turned out without transition from one thought to another. Before creating a blog, I thought for a long time about the order in which I would write my thoughts in a notebook… 🙂
